Second Annual
SANTA BARBARA JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL
March 2-5, 2006
What a treat! Feature films and documentaries that look at Jewish life through the eyes of American,
Israeli and other foreign filmmakers. These high-quality offerings make us laugh, make us cry, and,
above all, make us think. Months after last year's event, attendees were still discussing what they
had seen at the festival.
An independent, non-profit enterprise in affiliation with The Forest Foundation, the Santa Barbara
Jewish Film Festival (SBJFF) kicks off on Thursday night, March 2nd, with a gala at La Cumbre Country Club.
This dinner party and the opening night film are generously sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara.
The festival continues on Saturday morning, March 4th, with a panel at Congregation B'nai B'rith on "The Jewish
Culture of Hollywood." That evening two more films are screened. Sunday is documentary day, with Rabbi Steven
Cohen and Father Joe Scott, among others, dialoging with the audience. On Sunday evening we wrap up with a
feature film and ceremony bestowing the "Creative Spirit" award on an outstanding entertainer. Last year's honoree
was Academy Award winner Martin Landau.
